KMS is located in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, a major boatbuilding community in South Alabama. KMS roots began from a small family owned business in 1979, servicing the Bayou La Batre and surrounding areas.
In 1998, Kern Construction, Inc. was established, expanding to work in Mississippi, Louisiana and offshore industry.
In 2007, Kern Construction, Inc. and B&J Martin, Inc, a Louisiana based Offshore Quarters and Boat Supply Company formed a partnership. Kern Martin Services, Inc. was born.
KMS has grown into one of the leaders in the Marine Interior and Offshore Living Quarters market along the Gulf Coast. Covering from Florida to Texas, KMS has over 1000 vessels and over 200 living quarters to its resume of completed projects.
